Lord Hear Our Prayer - May 30, 2016

Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth;

untie my hear to fear your name.

Incline your ear, O LORD and answer me,

for I am poor and needy.

Preserve my life, for I am godly;

save your servant who trusts in you - you are my God.

Be gracious to me, O LORD;

for to you do I cry all the day.

Gladden the soul of your servant,

for to you, O LORD do I lift up my soul.

For great is your steadfast love toward me;

you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son

and to the Holy Spirit;

as it was in the beginning,

is now, and will be forever. Amen

Teach me your way, O LORD that I may walk in your truth;

untie my heart to fear your name.

Psalm 86:1-4, 13; antiphon; Psalm 86:11

Lord Hear Our Prayer - May 28, 2016

O God, You make the hearts of Your faithful to be as one heart. Grant that we may love Your commands and love Your promises, that among the many predictable sorrows of this world, our hearts may be fixed on that sudden, unexpected, and joyous turn of events, Your Son’s birth, death, and resurrection; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Lord Hear Our Prayer - April 24, 2016

Pray this hymn today...

This Joyful Eastertide

Author: George Ratcliffe Woodward (1894)

1 This joyful Eastertide,
away with sin and sadness!
Our Lord, the crucified,
has filled our hearts with gladness.

Had Christ, who once was slain,
not burst his three-day prison,
our faith would be in vain.
But now has Christ a-risen,
arisen, arisen,
but now has Christ arisen.

2 My being shall rejoice,
secure within God’s keeping,
until the trumpet voice
shall wake us from our sleeping. [Refrain]

3 Death’s waters lost their chill
when Jesus crossed the river.
His love shall reach me still;
his mercy is forever. [Refrain]

Lord Hear Our Prayer - February 23, 2016

O God, we believe and live by Your word when You allow suffering and pain instead of sunshine and gladness.

If you take something away from us, by your Holy Spirit empower us to still bless Your holy name.

 For it is the weak and humble who receive Your love,

who are pardoned and healed,

who are enlightened and strengthened.
So, we will find joy even in suffering,
and will pray for Your will to be done. Father, we accept those present circumstances that we cannot control;

because we know Your names  —  Yahweh, El Shaddai, Eloah.

“The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” Amen.

Lord Hear Our Prayer - January 30, 2016

O God, our Maker and Redeemer, You wonderfully created us, and, in Your Son becoming flesh, You yet more wondrously revealed the sanctity of every human life. Grant that by the power of the promises of Your Word, we may ever be alive in Him who made Himself to be like us; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
