Lord Hear Our Prayer - December 30, 2015

O God, our Maker and Redeemer, You wonderfully created us, and, in the incarnation of Your Son, yet more wondrously revealed the sanctity of human life. Grant that by the power of the promises of Your Word, we may ever be alive in Him who made Himself to be like us; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Lord Hear Our Prayer - December 29, 2015

P In peace let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

P For the gift of divine peace and of pardon, with all our heart and with all our mind, let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

P For the holy Christian Church, here and scattered throughout the world, and for the proclamation of the Gospel and the calling of all to faith, let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

P For this nation, for our cities and communities, and for the common welfare of us all, let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

P For seasonable weather and for the fruitfulness of the earth, let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

P For those who labor, for those whose work is difficult or dangerous, and for all who travel, let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

P For all those in need, for the hungry and homeless, for the widowed and orphaned, and for all those in prison, let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

P For the sick and dying and for all those who care for them, let us pray to the Lord:

C Lord, have mercy.

P Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! (Ephesians 3:20-21)

C Amen.

Lord Hear Our Prayer - December 28, 2015

O Holy Jesus, Broken Heart, O Light Shed Forth for our darkness: How passing wonderful Thou art! Here at Thy feet in adoration, here at Thine altar filled with light, here at Thy Word in expectation, here at Thy manger with delight, bring we the lives the world has broken, home to Thy heart Whose blood was shed, by Whom the Words of Life were spoken, and in Whose death our sins are dead. O Thou in whom all discords cease, grant us Thy peace. Grant us Thy peace. Amen.

O, That I Had A Thousand Voices
by Johann Mentzer, 1658-1734

Oh, that I had a thousand voices
To praise my God with thousand tongues!
My heart, which in the Lord rejoices,
Would then proclaim in grateful songs
To all, wherever I might be,
What great things God has done for me.

By grace! None dare lay claim to merit;
Our works and conduct have no worth,
God in His love sent our Redeemer,
Christ Jesus, to this sinful earth;
His death did for our sins atone,
And we are saved by grace alone.

You forest leaves so green and tender
That dance for joy in summer air,
You meadow grasses, bright and slender,
You flow’rs so fragrant and so fair,
You live to show God’s praise alone.
Join me to make His glory known.

All creatures that have breath and motion,
That throng the earth, the sea, the sky,
Come, share with me my heart’s devotion,
Help me to sing God’s praises high.
My utmost powers can never quite
Declare the wonders of His might.

Creator, humbly I implore You
To listen to my earthly song
Until that day when I adore You,
When I have joined the angel throng
And learned with choirs of heaven to sing
Eternal anthems to my King.

E’en So Lord Jesus Quickly Come
by Paul Manz

Listen HERE sung by the Lutheran High School of Kansas City Choir at Immanuel's 130th Anniversary Service

Peace be to you and grace from Him
Who freed us from our sins,
Who loved us all and shed His blood
That we might saved be.

Sing holy, holy to our Lord,
The Lord, Almighty God,
Who was and is and is to come;
Sing holy, holy, Lord!

Rejoice in heaven, all ye that dwell therein,
Rejoice on earth, ye saints below,
For Christ is coming, is coming soon!

E'en so, Lord Jesus, quickly come,
And night shall be no more;
they need no light nor lamp nor sun,
For Christ will be their all.
